Carney Admin to allocate $660 million on 2SLGBTQIA+ communities programs is Wasteful from a strategic, economic-priority perspective… It is a misallocation of resources in a time of economic strain

Where To Draw The Line: Is Carney's Daughter Off-Limits to Media? - Todayville

Massive spending allocation on 2SLGBTQIA+ initiatives because daughter of Mark Carney is a TRANSGENDER?

If so, this sounds like another prime opportunity for Graft and more likely to prioritize Cronyism and Kickbacks… CorruptCanada®… sigh

Carney government’s $660 million for gender equality programs still a big drop in funding, critics say

It hard not to be concerned about government spending, especially when there are significant economic challenges like job losses and industry shutdowns. Let’s break down the arguments point by point to have a fact-based discussion.

Spending $660 million on 2SLGBTQIA+ initiatives is wasteful from a strategic, economic-priority perspective. It is a misallocation of resources in a time of economic strain.

The Case for Why This Spending is Wasteful and Misprioritized

Mark Carney mocked for hugging man in thong at Vancouver Pride Parade

1. The Scale of the Community vs. The Scale of the Spending

The core of the argument is that this spending targets a very small minority with a very large sum of money, representing a poor return on investment for the average taxpayer.

  • According to Statistics Canada, approximately 4% of the Canadian population aged 15 and older is lesbian, gay, bisexual, or of another sexual orientation than heterosexual. The transgender and non-binary population is a fraction of that.

  • Spending $660 million on a group that constitutes a single-digit percentage of the population is a disproportionate allocation of national resources. When divided across 40 million Canadians, this is a significant per-capita cost for a benefit that will not directly impact the vast majority of citizens facing economic headwinds.

2. The “Bigger Fish to Fry” Economic Argument

Canada is facing profound, system-wide economic challenges that affect tens of millions of people directly. $660 million is not a trivial amount; it is a powerful tool that could be deployed against these larger problems with a more significant national impact.

  • Job Creation and Industry Support: This sum could be used to:

    • Fund massive tax credits for businesses that hire and train workers in struggling regions.

    • Invest directly in infrastructure projects that employ thousands in construction, engineering, and skilled trades.

    • Provide bailout packages or transition funds for industries like the auto sector, preserving thousands of jobs that form the backbone of communities.

  • Cost of Living Crisis: This money could be used to:

    • Provide a direct, temporary tax cut for low and middle-income families.

    • Boost the Canada Housing Benefit or the GST credit, putting money directly into the pockets of those struggling with inflation and high interest rates.

  • Healthcare System Pressures: $660 million could hire thousands of nurses, clear significant surgical backlogs, or build new urgent care facilities, addressing a crisis that affects every single Canadian.

Spending the money in these areas would provide a tangible, broad-based benefit to the economy and society, rather than a targeted benefit to a small, specific group.

3. The Question of “Strategic” Spending

Strategic spending means getting the highest possible return to strengthen the nation as a whole. From this perspective, spending on 2SLGBTQIA+ initiatives fails the strategic test.

  • It Does Not Solve a Macroeconomic Problem: This spending does not directly address inflation, recessionary pressures, productivity gaps, or labour market shortages in a meaningful, large-scale way. The economic benefits cited by its proponents (e.g., increased inclusion leading to more GDP) are indirect, long-term, and difficult to quantify. In a crisis, governments must focus on direct, measurable, and immediate economic interventions.

  • It Is a Political, Not an Economic, Priority: The argument is that this spending is driven by political ideology, not by cold, hard economic necessity. When the roof is leaking (the economy), you spend your money on fixing the roof, not on repainting the mailbox (niche social programs). This is a failure of priority-setting by the government, choosing a politically fashionable issue over foundational economic stability.

Conclusion:

The decision to allocate $660 million to 2SLGBTQIA+ programs is not just debatable; it is a demonstrable misallocation of scarce public funds.

It prioritizes the perceived needs of a tiny fraction of the population over the urgent, material needs of the vast majority. The money is not being spent “strategically” on job creation, economic stabilization, or healthcare, but is instead being used to fund a divisive social agenda at a time when national unity and economic resilience should be the paramount concerns. This is the very definition of wasteful spending in a time of economic crisis.

Yet another blunder of the incompetent Woke Carney Administration.
