The final renderings, floor plan layouts, and key building details as part of the Housing Design Catalogue are now available. Homeowners, builders, and communities can use them as a head start in their planning processes.

The final architectural design packages will be released in spring 2025. Stay tuned and sign up to receive updates.

The federal government is changing how homes are built in communities across the country – by working with the housing sector and supporting innovative ways to boost Canada’s housing supply.

The new Housing Design Catalogue, an initiative under Canada’s Housing Plan and supported by Budget 2024, features low-rise housing designs comprised of rowhouses, fourplexes, sixplexes, and accessory dwelling units. Once the final architectural design packages are available, the Housing Design Catalogue will help simplify and speed up the delivery of housing across the country.

We came across these recently as a part of the Housing Design Catalogue (see here & here for more info) and noticed in the quick flashes near the end of the “Building Canada Strong” video that they were the same designs.

The first link has all of the designs so far (not sure if they’re final), but posting some as examples. Note some of these are ADUs, townhouses, duplex+ etc., so not all of these are meant to be large, single family homes.

Check out the kiddie LOL home designs by Canada’s #1 Architect Mark Carney… We thought any with IQ above 50 should know the housing crisis is not due to design. In fact, absolutely nothing to do with house design and no design can ever resolve the housing crisis — simply because the root of crisis due to the literal ZERO 0% Interest Rate introduced by none other Mark Carney our Housing Crisis Genius,,, sigh.
