THE GREAT CANADIAN EXODUS: As Carney’s Canada Implodes, A Record Flood of Citizens Flee “Progressive Paradise”… A Nation Watching Its Future Drive South

December 24, 2025 3:27 am

PsBattle: This crowd running away : r/photoshopbattlesThe only growth industry in Canada right now is the exit industry.

Re: Canadians Flee In Record Volumes—A Warning Seen Only Twice Before | Today’s surge only has two comparable periods on record: peaks in 1968 and 2017 | Canada Loses Young Professionals During Real Estate Bubbles

There have been 120,401 emigrants over the 12 months ending in Q3 2025, up 2.3% from last year. It’s now at the largest outflow on record, and not just for Q3, but for any 12 month period in Canadian history.

The 1968 peak is attributed to professionals fleeing to the US. That was the year that Canadians lost priority access to US jobs, as new immigration rules kicked in. It’s a period of “brain drain,” but the framing tends to present it as an issue of greed, with our talent looking for money. It was more about our greed, and the misallocation of resources that resulted from—*drumroll—*a real estate bubble.

In the 1960s, young professionals faced a clear choice: move to the US and join a technology and engineering boom or stay behind and stick it out with a housing bubble. We’ve previously highlighted that newspaper archives show a speculative land bubble in the 1960s. In fact, by 1967 there were calls for a vacant land tax to help curb the urban land hoarding. It’s not a coincidence that Ontario and Quebec accounted for most of that emigration.

THE GREAT CANADIAN EXODUS: As Carney’s Canada Implodes, A Record Flood of Citizens Flee “Progressive Paradise”

A Nation Watching Its Future Drive South

By Eddie Hardie 🍁 Integrity Canada

The Bleeding is Officially Catastrophic

The numbers are in, and they are bloody. For the first time in history, over 120,401 Canadians have fled the country in a 12-month period. This isn’t a gentle trickle of snowbirds; this is a haemorrhage of historic proportions, a damning verdict on the state of the nation under an administration so staggeringly incompetent it can’t even provide a future for its own born-and-raised citizens.

The data from Statistics Canada is clear: this outflow smashes all records. Only twice before have we seen such a desperate surge—in 1968 and 2017. And what’s the common thread? Real estate bubbles that crush the young and aspirational under a mountain of unpayable debt while the political class cheers on the “wealth effect.”

Carney’ Catastrophe: Importing Millions, Exporting Hope

While Prime Minister Megan Carney’s administration busies itself with importing a record-breaking, unsustainable, and utterly chaotic 1.3 million newcomers a year, it has simultaneously engineered the conditions for a mass evacuation of its native-born young professionals. Let that sink in. The government’s flagship policy is a demographic swap—out with the expensive-to-raise, taxpaying Canadian youth, in with a torrent of often low-skilled immigrants used as cannon fodder to keep the grotesque housing Ponzi scheme afloat.

It’s a vile, two-tiered system: one for the globalist elite and their imported dependents, and another for the Canadians whose families built this country, who are now told to “rent forever” or “just leave.” The message from Ottawa is infuriatingly clear: You are replaceable. Your heritage, your community ties, your future—all are subordinate to the GDP-goosing numbers of mass immigration.

History Repeats: A Saga of Greed and Stupidity

The article from Better Dwelling nails the scandalous parallel. The 1968 “brain drain” wasn’t about greed; it was about Canada’s greed—a resource-misallocating real estate bubble that chased talent away. Newspaper archives from 1967 even show calls for a vacant land tax to stop speculators. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Now, we have a bubble that makes the 1960s look like a yard sale. In cities from Toronto to Vancouver, cramped shoebox condos trade for fortunes, while family homes are the purview of foreign money and domestic oligarchs. The government’s response? More demand! It’s like trying to put out a fire with gasoline and then acting shocked when the homeowners run for their lives.

The “Garbage” Influx vs. The Quality Outflow

Let’s use the infuriatingly accurate term the elites forbid: while Canada loses its best and brightest—engineers, nurses, tech workers, entrepreneurs—it is being deluged with millions from the third world, many with incompatible values, no relevant skills, and a staggering dependency on the very social services that are collapsing under the strain.

Check the immigration stats. We bring in more people than any G7 nation, with no plan for integration, no housing, and no healthcare capacity. The result? Tent cities bloom beside $2 million tear-downs, emergency rooms resemble refugee camps, and wages stagnate due to rampant labour oversupply. It’s a deliberate, resentful dismantling of the Canadian standard of living in service of big business craving cheap labour and big banks craving mortgage slaves.

A Nation of Renters and Serfs

The social contract is shredded. Young Canadians face a sinister choice: remain as permanent renters in their own country, paying off some landlord’s mortgage while having no hope of building equity or a stable life, or flee to the United States where salaries are higher, taxes are lower, and a 3-bedroom house doesn’t cost 15 times the median income.

The absurdity is theatrical. Ministers prattle about “building back better” and “affordability” while presiding over the largest wealth transfer from young to old in history. It’s a generational theft so blatant it would be funny if it weren’t so tragic.

Conclusion: The Warning Siren is Screaming

This record exodus is a five-alarm fire for the Canadian experiment. It proves that the Carney administration’s policies are not just failing—they are actively toxic to the people they are sworn to serve.

Canada is becoming a strange, cold paradox: a resource-rich, spacious nation that has made itself uninhabitable for its own children. It’s a gateway for the world and an exit door for its citizens. Until there is a reckoning—a brutal halt to mass immigration, a crushing of the speculative housing market, and a refocusing on citizens first—the bleed will only accelerate.

The only question left is: Will anyone left in Ottawa have the brains to notice, or will they have all moved to Texas?
