Canada Media be like… See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil?
Not even one single mainstream media ever asks why NO ACTION whatsoever on the Combustible Materials — a Confirmed Fire Hazard that’s still burning after more than one week now?
A CITY BURNING, A CONSCIENCE ASHES: THE CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE OF TORONTO’S CORRUPT REGIME UNDER OLIVIA CHOW
By Eddie Hardie 🍁 Integrity Canada
The acrid smell of smoke over Thorncliffe Park is more than the scent of a stubborn fire. It is the stench of betrayal. It is the foul aroma of criminal negligence, wafting from the very heart of Toronto’s municipal government. While displaced families shiver in temporary shelters, Fire Chief Jim Jessop has uttered the words that should trigger seismic shocks through City Hall: the buildings are still burning due to “combustible particle board” installed between high-rises.
The Killer Fire Hazards: Combustible Particle Boards
Let us be brutally, legally clear: This is not an accident. This is a crime.
For ordinary citizens, the technical details of building codes may seem obscure. For those in power, they are life-and-death commandments. And they have been brazenly violated.
CRIME SCENE #1: THE COMBUSTIBLE COVER-UP
-
The Law: The Ontario Building Code and Fire Code are unequivocal: high-rise building exteriors must be constructed with non-combustible materials. As former Fire Chief Matthew Pegg himself publicly affirmed, these buildings are to be built with materials “that don’t burn.” The use of combustible particle board—the same type of material that fueled the inferno at London’s Grenfell Tower, which killed 72 people—is not a “oops.” It is an act of permissible manslaughter. By allowing this, the City has overseen the construction of potential death traps.
-
CRIME SCENE #2: THE FATAL SQUEEZE
2. The Law: Regulations mandate “spatial separation” between buildings to prevent fire spread and to allow firefighter access. The revelation that there is a mere 1-2 inch gap—a space so tiny it renders firefighters powerless—is a scandal of epic proportions. This isn’t bad luck; it’s criminally negligent design and approval. It means the very people sworn to protect us are left watching buildings smolder, unable to reach the illegal fuel feeding the flames.
Does that mean the City of The Toronto condones Safety related violations? That the municipals officials posing Safety & Life Risks to the Public Knowingly and Wilfully?
The quick answer is unfortunately Yes, and Yes.
Question: Who Allowed This FIRE HAZARD (of course ILLEGAL) In The Highrise Buildings?
Answer: As always… Zero, Zilch, Nada

Why Compliance With Law Is Necessary?
Perhaps one should ask why is there is law in the first place?
In a free society each and every man lives under a rule of law, as opposed to a whim-ridden rule of men.Such a rule of law has only one purpose: to protect the rights of the smallest minority that has ever existed — the individual.
And the main purpose of building codes is to protect public health, safety and general welfare as they relate to the construction and occupancy of buildings and structures… Wikepedia
Therefore, the perpetrators must be held accountable …prison, or those responsible must resign or Toronto will be forever DEATH TRAP.
THE DEAFENING SILENCE: SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL, COLLECT YOUR BRIBES?
If you bother to scan the Internet for news, you will see not one single media outletever ask why there is No Investigation into the violations since it’s been determined safety rules and regulations have been violated?
Yesterday, the media was in complete silence even though the building are still smoldering and firetrucks remains at the ‘crime scene’. Perhaps that’s due to the revelation that law has been broken? No idea and today, couple of media outlets resumed reporting but none question the Building Code Violations but focused on meaningless issues like insurance.
The media, after a brief flurry, has largely retreated to the anesthetic comfort of insurance discussions. “Will insurance cover it?”:-
- Does insurance cover residents’ damages from the Thorncliffe fire?
- Insurance experts available to help residents affected by the Thorncliffe Park condominium fire
What a grotesque sidebar!
Where is the outrage? Where are the investigations?
The question is WHO WILL GO TO JAIL FOR IT?

Do not be naive. This silence is not ignorance; it is complicity. The history of Toronto’s building department is a festering wound of corruption. We have living proof: a City of Toronto Chief Building Official was caught bragging about taking bribes to violate the law for a “friend” at 15 Rutherglen Road (City Reference #07756565 etc.). He treated corruption as a virtue. This is the culture. This is the rot.
Why does this happen? Because in Toronto, the building industry is a river of cash, and municipal officials have their hands out, palms greasy. They look at fire hazards like wooden fences attached to buildings—blatant violations they refuse to act upon—and they see not danger, but dollar signs. They have knowingly and wilfully posed safety and life risks to the public. Mayor Olivia Chow’s administration is not just failing to fix this; it is presiding over it.
THE BIG LIE: “WE ARE HERE TO HELP”
The politicians will offer sympathy. They will form committees. They will lie. They have already betrayed you. Their inaction screams a terrifying truth: Your safety is less important than the kickback, the political donation, the quiet favor for a connected developer.
- CANADA’S NATIONAL PASTIME ISN’T HOCKEY—IT’S WATCHING CORRUPT POLITICIANS GET AWAY WITH IT… Corruption has reached pandemic proportion but don’t expect the government to solve it
- Four in five Canadians believe political corruption is common in Canada and don’t trust government to solve it
Canada is now a kleptocracy in a parka. Four in five Canadians know political corruption is common. We watch, numb, as it becomes our national pastime. But Thorncliffe Park is not a game. It is a warning shot across our city’s skyline. The next Grenfell is not a possibility here; based on the evidence, it is an inevitability being blueprinted and approved by City Hall.
THE SOLUTION: FROM POLITE PETITIONS TO PITCHFORKS
We are past asking nicely. The time for “urging” and “calling upon” is over. It is time for consequences.
-
Name and ABSOLUTE Shame: Every official in the chain of approval for these buildings, from the inspector to the manager to the politicians who oversee them ie. Chow and her entire senior management — Paul Johnson, Kamal Gogna, Kerri Voumvakis, Barbara Gray must be publicly, relentlessly identified. Flood social media. Picket their offices. Make their names synonymous with corruption and danger. Stop saying “ethical lapse.” Start saying “accessory to arson by negligence.”
-
Demand a Corruptions Task Force WITH TEETH: Not another paper tiger. We need an independent, ruthless, well-funded agency with the power to seize records, make arrests, and prosecute politicians and bureaucrats. If Hong Kong can do it after the Tai Po inferno, why can’t Canada? What are we afraid of finding?
-
The Electoral Guillotine: Support “None of the Above” on ballots. If the corrupt win by default, we must have the power to reject them all and ban them from ever running again.
-
Become Ungovernable by the Corrupt: Sign the petition for Mayor Chow’s resignation for criminal negligence. But don’t stop there. Share the evidence. Talk to your neighbors. File formal complaints with the police for criminal negligence causing danger to life. Support whistleblowers—they are the only heroes in this sordid tale.
THE STARK CHOICE BEFORE US
If we do nothing, we consent. We become accomplices in our own potential demise. History shows that when a system becomes this rotten, violence eventually erupts. The blood will be on the hands of those who chose bribes over building codes. And the law id very clear on the subject matter:-
CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE
219 (1) Every one is criminally negligent who
(a) in doing anything, or
(b) in omitting to do anything that it is his duty to do,
shows wanton or reckless disregard for the lives or safety of other persons.
ii) WILFUL AND FORBIDDEN ACTS IN RESPECT OF CERTAIN PROPERTY
429 (1) Every one who causes the occurrence of an event by doing an act or by omitting to do an act that it is his duty to do, knowing that the act or omission will probably cause the occurrence of the event and being reckless whether the event occurs or not, shall be deemed, for the purposes of this Part, wilfully to have caused the occurrence of the event.
Obviously none of the crooks and criminals even bat an eyelid… unless we folks take the rot seriously.
There is an alternative: a revolution of accountability. Or, perhaps, a realization that our own institutions are too corrupt to save. Some are now whispering a once-unthinkable idea: that true accountability might only be found under a different flag, where citizens can legally fight a corrupt government and win.
This is not just about a fire in Thorncliffe Park. This is about every building, every home, every life in Toronto. The smoke you smell is not just from particle board. It is from the burning of public trust. The inferno is in City Hall. And it’s time to put it out.
DEMAND ACTION. DEMAND JUSTICE. DEMAND SAFETY. BEFORE THE NEXT FIRE IS A FUNERAL PYRE.
