The Boeing F-47 Voodoo II?
US unveils sixth-generation F-47 fighter jet — whose name is an homage to Trump
President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Friday that the US will begin producing the world’s first sixth-generation fighter jet — whose name includes an homage to the commander in chief, the 47th President of the United States.
The 47th president said the fighter jet that will replace the F-22 will be called the F-47…
The jets will be built as part of the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program which will replace Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptor.
The F-47 will be a crewed aircraft built to enter combat alongside drones.
The plane’s design remains a closely held secret, but would likely include stealth, advanced sensors, and cutting-edge engines.
Boeing To Build F-47
Yes, you read it correctly, Boeing the most scandalous planemaker whose infamous 737s are falling off from sky almost every other month has been given contact to build the most demanding jet… Good luck.

Fact: F-47 ISN’T the first 6th Gen Fighter Jet. China already commissioned flight of both (yes, TWO) their 6th Gen Stealth Fighter Jets, namely H36 and J50 and it’s said the Chinese are actively developing 7th Gen as we speak.
Shares of Boeing were up five per cent after the news while Lockheed’s shares fell nearly six per cent.
For Boeing, the win marks a reversal of fortune for a company that has struggled on both the commercial and defence sides of its business.
Trump announces ‘most lethal aircraft ever built’ and says Russia ‘wouldn’t be worried’ about NATO without US
The US president made the bizarre comments while awarding Boeing a contract to develop the F-47, the US Air Force’s most sophisticated fighter jet yet.
The new F-47 will succeed the F-35, long heralded for its superior stealth capabilities. In its Navy variant, the F-35 was the first US fighter jet to be able to land vertically like a helicopter, allowing it to touch down on ships with limited runway room.
Trump joked that he liked the name of the new jet, which shares the same number as Trump’s second administration. He denied naming it after himself, insisting that “the generals picked a title, and it’s a beautiful number.”
Details about the new asset were limited to protect against foreign adversaries gleaning intelligence about it. Trump mentioned the F-47 would be the first aircraft to be able to “fly with drones,” though it was unclear what he meant.
“It flies with many, many drones, as many as you want. And it’s a technology that’s new, but it doesn’t fly by itself. It flies (with a pilot) but with many drones, as many as we want,” the president said. “And that’s something that no other plane can do.”

- Been in development secretly for > 5 years

Known as Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD), the manned jet will serve as quarterback to a fleet of future drone aircraft designed to be able to penetrate the air defenses of China and any other potential foes. The initial contract to proceed with production on a version for the Air Force is worth an estimated $20 billion.
Critics have questioned the cost and the necessity of the program as the Pentagon is still struggling to fully produce the F-35, which is expected to cost taxpayers more than $1.7 trillion over its lifespan. In addition, the Pentagon’s future stealth bomber, the B-21 Raider, will have many of the same cutting edge technologies in advanced materials, AI, propulsion and stealth.
More than 1,100 F-35s have already been built for the U.S. and multiple international partners.
A fleet of about 100 future B-21 stealth bombers at an estimated total cost of at least $130 billion is also planned. The first B-21 aircraft are now in test flights.
“This is a historic investment in the American military, in the American industrial base, in American industry, that will help revive the warrior ethos inside our military — which we’re doing — rebuild our military — which the previous administration did not do, by the way,” Hegseth said during the announcement.

How much yall bet it’s called the f 47 just to stroke trumps ego
Trump Hints U.S. Could Go to War With Allies Someday in Wild Presser
Donald Trump announced the F-47 managed to threaten America’s allies…
“It’s something the likes of which nobody has seen before, in terms of all of the attributes of a fighter jet, there’s never been anything even close to it, in terms of speed to maneuverability to payload,” Trump said during the Oval Office press briefing.
Vladimir Putin isn’t amused Trump named the fighter jet “47” and cries “IP THEFT”! Why? Because that sounds like his toy called Sukhoi 47!

Serious question, who names those?
We got F-15, FA-18,F-22, F-35 F-47… but where are the F-20s? F-30s? F40s?
There used to kinda of be a pattern for each major generation.
Century series (2nd and 3rd gen):
- F-100
- F-101
- F-102
- F-104
- F-103 (never left the drawing board)
- F-105
- F-107 (prototype)
F-4, F-5, and F-8 fit somewhere between these two main groups.
Teen series (4th gen):
- YF-12 (armed SR-71 prototype)
- F-14
- F-15
- F-16
- YF-17
- F-18
- F-19 (F-117)
- F-20
Then it falls off the cliff with the F-22, YF-23, X-32, F-35, and now the F-47. I’m not sure if there’s a consistent naming scheme at this point. And this also doesn’t include non-fighter aircraft like the A-10, A-12, A-6, OV-10, E-2, etc.
F-42 is a NG CCA announced two weeks ago, F-44 is an Anduril CCA announced two weeks ago. YF-46 was probably the LMT failed bid for NGAD. We are in the 40s just sequentially for fighters.
My first reaction when I heard it was going to be called the “F-47”
