US Lawmakers write to Complain about Canada’s Wildfire Smoke is Spoiling Summer… There is nothing the Incompetent Liberals could do so far, and neither will Mark Carney care as he has been proven that he actually condones Law Violation to compromise Safety of the general Public knowingly and wilfully

US lawmakers write to Canada to complain that its wildfire smoke is spoiling summer

Wildfires have forced thousands of Canadians to evacuate their homes in 2025

Smoke from Canadian wildfires is drifting south and making it difficult for Americans to enjoy summer, six members of Congress have said in a letter to Canada’s embassy.

A letter signed by Republican House representatives Tom Tiffany and Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin; and Brad Finstad, Michelle Fischbach, Pete Stauber and Tom Emmer of Minnesota, was published Monday and addressed to Canada’s ambassador in Washington.

“We write to you today on behalf of our constituents who have had to deal with suffocating Canadian wildfire smoke filling the air to begin the summer,” it reads.

“In our neck of the woods, summer months are the best time of the year to spend time outdoors recreating, enjoying time with family, and creating new memories, but this wildfire smoke makes it difficult to do all those things,” says the complaint, which can be read in full here.

Key Points of the Letter:

  1. Complaint About Smoke: The lawmakers highlight how smoke from Canadian wildfires has “disrupted the lives of millions of Americans” by causing hazardous air quality, flight delays, and event cancellations.

  2. Request for Action: They urge Canada to “take responsibility” and adopt more aggressive wildfire prevention strategies, including better forest management (like logging and controlled burns).

  3. Diplomatic Tone, but Critical: While formally polite, the letter implies that Canada is not doing enough to prevent wildfires and that U.S. citizens are suffering as a result.

  4. Mention of U.S. Assistance: The letter notes that the U.S. has provided firefighting aid to Canada but suggests more proactive measures are needed.

Wildfires in Canada in 2023 have been worse than in recent years : r /dataisbeautiful

Context & Reactions:

  • Wildfire Reality: Canada has experienced record-breaking wildfires in recent years, worsened by climate change, drought, and forest management challenges. Smoke naturally crosses borders, affecting U.S. states.

  • Political Angle: Some critics see the letter as performative, since wildfires are a natural and transboundary issue—not something Canada can fully “control.” Others argue it raises valid concerns about forest management cooperation.

  • Canadian Response: While no direct reply from Trudeau is public yet, Canadian officials have previously emphasized that wildfires are a shared climate crisis challenge requiring collaboration, not blame.

Would This Letter Actually Change Anything?

Unlikely—it’s mostly symbolic. Wildfire prevention and response are complex, climate-driven issues that nothing something folks can expect the incompetent Carney Administration can handle.

The situation is even worse now that Canada is run by Mark Carney who has a rather shady track record in public administration with zero experience in politics. Britons call him a “Voodoo Economist scamming around with a broken crystals ball.” and of late, he is embroiled in a Safety Scandals that’s posing life risks to the residents in Toronto as a result of rampant corruption by the Chow Regime on the City of Toronto… What did Carney do about such a brazen LAWBREAKING? Nothing at all.

Canada’s Lawlessness

Carney is literally telling the victims:

“I am in politics for money and power (not for you)… So what me or my thugs break law? There’s nothing you peasant class can do… Because we the ruling class control the cops, the courts, and everything else. We’re the law, and that makes us the privileged politicks ABOVE THE LAW!”

Mark Carney condones Law Violation that compromised Safety of the general Public knowingly and wilfully

It’s said Mark Carney is basically only interested in matters that generate benefits for himself, many wonder why did Canadians voted for him? Well, the answer is pretty straight forward — Trump Tariffs… Timing of the election was the key factor.

Experts believe Liberals will lose by landslide if election were held later… Anyway, not until Mark Carney make government officials abide by the law, Carney remains a CRIMINAL (as defined under the Criminal Code).

Taken ‘very seriously,’ says embassy

Research shows that climate change, largely driven by fossil fuel use, is exacerbating wildfires in both Canada and the United States.

While a proportion of wildfires is caused by human activity — like unattended campfires — and a Quebec man pleaded guilty to arson last year after he was arrested for igniting 14 fires, there is no indication that widespread arson is behind the wildfires.

Lightning causes about half of them and burns the most area, per the Canadian National Fire Database. There are currently 526 active wildfires in Canada, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre.

“Canada takes the prevention, response and mitigation of wildfires very seriously,” the Canadian Embassy said in a statement responding to the letter. “[The letter] has been shared with the relevant Canadian agencies. We will respond in due course.”

“Burn, Baby, Burn… That’s not our problem” — The Carney Administration?

Two Canadians have died in this year’s wildfires and tens of thousands of others have evacuated.

Tom Emmer is a senior member of Congress, serving as Majority Whip in the House of Representatives.

He and his five fellow Republican lawmakers wrote in the letter, published Monday: “We would like to know how your government plans on mitigating wildfire and the smoke that makes its way south.”

They continued: “Our constituents have been limited in their ability to go outside and safely breathe due to the dangerous air quality the wildfire smoke has created.

“In our neck of the woods, summer months are the best time of the year to spend time outdoors recreating, enjoying time with family, and creating new memories, but this wildfire smoke makes it difficult to do all those things.”

Tarryn Elliott, spokeswoman for the Canadian embassy in Washington DC, told the BBC the Canadian government “takes the prevention, response, and mitigation of wildfires very seriously”.

“I can confirm that the letter has been received by the Embassy and has been shared with the relevant Canadian agencies,” she said. “We will respond in due course.”

Canada faces wildfires every summer. The worst year on record was 2023, when the fires killed eight people and torched an area larger in size than England, according to the Canadian government.

There have been 2,672 fires so far this year, according to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre.

May and June were particularly bad months in western Canada, when around 30,000 people were evacuated in the provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, where officials declared a state of emergency.

Long History  of Canada’s Incompetence in Wildfire Prevention

“As I’m sure you know, this is not the first year Canadian wildfire smoke has been an issue,” the lawmakers wrote, blaming a “lack of active forest management” and arson.

“With all the technology that we have at our disposal, both in preventing and fighting wildfires, this worrisome trend can be reversed if proper action is taken,” they stated.

The country is warming at a rate twice that of the global average due to its large land mass, and its Arctic region is warming three times as fast, according to scientists.
