On Monday, Day 2 of the Great Ice Storm of 2013, the sense of shared adventure had started to melt away, though not disappear.

The streets of downtown Toronto were filled with cheerful people happy to be out and about after spending the weekend as shut-ins. Sidewalks were cleared of ice, transit was working again — most of it at least — and roads were passable.

It seemed, well, like Christmas.
